Maybe you're a tea lover looking for new ways to enjoy your favourite beverage in the warmer months. Perhaps you're a coffee lover trying to get into tea. Or maybe you're just a sucker for a delicious cool beverage on a warm summer day — we know we sure are!

Tea doesn't have to be just a winter drink. That's why we've designed six mouth-watering recipes for you to try using our locally handcrafted blends. Personally, we like to make a whole pitcher and keep it in the fridge so we can have a refreshing glass in mere seconds.

Now before you get overwhelmed at trying something new, here's the secret. All of these recipes use the same method to properly prepare your tea so that you get the most out of each brew. To achieve this, we recommend using the hot brew method for all of our iced tea recipes.

What is the Hot Brew Method?

Here's the thing: Even if you steep tea in cold water overnight for 10-12 hours, it still won't produce the same strong flavours as if you boiled the water first.

This is why we strongly recommend that you steep your tea in hot water before proceeding with any of the iced tea recipes below — this is how you get the most robust flavours. After the tea has steeped, you can let it cool on the counter or put it in the fridge for a quicker process. Once it's room temperature, follow the instructions, add some ice and enjoy!

Oolong Peach Iced Tea

Ingredients

  • Oolong Peach blend from Grounded Tea
  • 1 Cup hot water
  • Fresh peach slices for serving
  • Ice

Simple syrup:

  • 1 cup organic cane sugar
  • 1 cup water
  • 2 ripe peaches (thinly sliced)

Instructions

  1. Bring water to a boil using a kettle or the stovetop.
  2. Allow the tea to steep for 3-5 minutes.
  3. Allow tea to cool on the counter or place it in the fridge until desired temperature.
  4. While tea cools, bring sugar, water and peaches to a boil in a small saucepan to make the syrup. Lower heat and use a wooden spoon to stir and crush peaches to infuse the flavour.
  5. Once sugar is dissolved, cover, remove from heat and let steep for 25-30 minutes. When finished, pour syrup over mesh to strain out peaches (could save & use later for oats or ice cream?!).
  6. Once your tea and syrup are cool, pour tea over ice.
  7. Slowly add syrup to your desired sweetness.
  8. Add peaches, muddle or stir.
  9. Garnish with a peach slice.
  10. Enjoy!
